Ali is a founding partner of Neurology Associates Neuroscience Center. He has extensive health care administration experience in the United States and has done business in the Middle East, Africa and Europe. He received the National Nurse-Led Care Consortium Innovation Champion Award in 2009, and The Phoenix Business Journal Outstanding CFO Award in 2015. He earned his Master of Public Administration degree from Arizona State University and is currently working on his PhD in Justice and Social Transformation.
James has over 16 years of management experience and is working on his degree in Healthcare Management. He finds great satisfaction in making sure his team is happy and working cohesively to provide the best quality experience for the guests of Neurology Associates. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling the world with his wife, collecting Lego and Sideshow Collectables and watching his favorite team in baseball, the Red Sox.
Christina is a Certified Professional Coder and Medical Billing Specialist and has been in healthcare since 2001. She earned her Bachelor’s in Organizational Leadership in 2016 at Arizona State University. She has been with us since 2012. Christina enjoys spending time with family.
Floyd manages all policies and procedures for Neurology Associates’ MRI division, as well as EMGs, VNGs, and EEGs. He has worked in health care for more than 20 years; his experience includes management and neurology. Floyd holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s in organizational leadership. He also is pursuing a master’s in human resources. In November 2020, Floyd returned to Neurology Associates after two years away. He most enjoys being able to contribute to patient quality of life, and he thrives on the ever-changing environment that is the health care industry. Floyd’s favorite pastime is traveling.
Claudia earned her medical assistant degree from Pima Medical Institution in 2013. She joined our practice in 2014 and in 2018 became our lead Medical Assistant, supervising all Neurology Associates Medical Assistants. Claudia is a proud mother of three, and is also fluent in English and Spanish.
Ariana is the medical assistant dedicated to Dr. Andrea An. Ariana takes patient vitals and provides information on tests, including MRI, EEG and VENG, ordered by Dr. An. Ariana earned her medical assistant certificate in 2016 and joined Neurology Associates in 2017. She most enjoys providing care that helps patients address their conditions with as much confidence and knowledge as possible. In her off hours, Ariana loves spending time with her son.
Andrea, who is also a Licensed Professional Nurse, joined our team in 2017 in the Mesa clinic. She is the Medical Assistant assigned to Dr. Julius Charlie, and is fluent in English and Spanish. Andrea earned her LPN nursing degree from Gateway Community College where she is currently working on a Registered Nursing degree. Andrea has a background as a Care Navigator helping patients sign up for government aid programs and the Health Insurance Marketplace.
Kelly joined Neurology Associates in 2019 and works as the certified medical assistant dedicated to Dr. Julie Lockwood. She gathers patient data, takes vitals, and ensures patients receive all the information they need. Kelly has devoted much of her career to helping people. She spent almost a decade in customer service and management, with another 18 months in an oncology office. Kelly holds a bachelor’s of science in communication with a concentration in technology from University of Phoenix, as well as her medical assistant certification from Pima Medical Institute. When she is not providing patient care, Kelly spends time with her fiancé, their two dogs, and family and friends.
Dusty joined Neurology Associates’ Mesa clinic in July 2020 with 18 years’ experience. She works with Dr. Jones and Dr. Sales. Dusty prepares patients for exams, and helps Drs. Jones and Sales with patient documents and communication. She calls herself “very passionate” about taking care of her patients. Dusty holds certifications in medical assisting, phlebotomy and first aid. She spends much of her free time with family (including five kids) and friends. Dusty also plays golf, likes to hunt, fish and camp, and also enjoys shopping and going to the gym.
Anil joined Neurology Associates in 2019 with 11 years of experience as an MRI expert and as one of the few Magnetic Resonance Safety Officers in the world. This means he is uniquely qualified to ensure patient safety before and during MRI exams. Anil also holds American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certifications in MRI, CT and radiography. He spent 10 years conducting MRI scans in a Level 1 trauma center, which contributed to his distinctive, compassionate approach. “If I can make a patient laugh, that makes my day here at Neurology Associates,” Anil says. “Half of the population we get is claustrophobic and I am very good with these patients.” Anil has earned a number of awards, including one for Outstanding Performance in Radiologic Science from the Joint Review Committee in Education in Radiologic Technology, United State Department of Education, and the All Star award from the Robert Wood John Health Care System for excellence in patient care. Anil practices meditation each day, and enjoys traveling and being in nature.
Melanie has worked in the medical field since 2004, and as an MRI technologist since 2013. She joined Neurology Associates in 2019. Melanie goes to great lengths to ensure her patients remain safe, comfortable and informed throughout each MRI exam. Melanie holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology and child development from Arizona State University. She earned her MRI certification in 2013. Outside of work, Melanie enjoys traveling, being in nature, playing tennis, good food and spending time with friends.
Alaina has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and an associate’s degree in Neurodiagnostics. She became board certified as an R.EEG.T Technician in 2014 and has been working in the field since. She enjoys making sure her patients are well taken care of and comfortable during their tests. When not at work she enjoys spending time with her husband, whether it be traveling, watching sports, or playing with her five cats.
Patricia earned her Associates of Applied Science and EEG/END Technology degree from Gateway Community College in 2014. She worked at Chandler Regional Medical Center as an EEG Technician and at Barrow Neurological Institute as an IONM Technician. Before the medical field, Patricia owned her own catering and craft service company in Phoenix and worked as a personal assistant helping busy families with caring for elderly parents.
Christine earned her Associates of Applied Science in Electroneurodiagnostics/EEG Technology from Gateway Community College and became Board Registered in 2017. She also earned an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts from Central Arizona College. Christine loves interacting with patients and working in neurology because she finds the brain interesting. In her off time, she enjoys camping, fishing and hanging out with family.
Laura joined Neurology Associates in June 2020 as our Physical Therapist Assistant. She works closely with our physical therapist, Eric Gee, helping him with patient care and treatment. Her responsibilities often include manual therapy and home exercise program development. Laura has worked as a PTA since 2008. She thrives on spending one-on-one time with patients, watching them progress and gain quality of life. In her off-hours, Laura spends time with her family, cooks and bakes vegan meals and treats, and enjoys supporting vegan restaurants. She also likes to read.
Zahira is one of Neurology Associates’ dedicated front desk personnel at the Chandler practice. She enjoys making people feel welcome when they walk into the office. By the time she joined Neurology Associates in 2019, Zahira had worked in customer service for more than nine years. She wants to earn a degree in the medical field. In her off-hours, Zahira enjoys spending time with her husband and family.
Adriana took on the role of patient coordinator at Neurology Associates in August 2020. She came to the practice with eight years of experience in the medical field, and enjoys interacting with the people she helps. In her off hours, Adriana spends time with her family and goes hiking.
Samantha joined Neurology Associates’ medical records department in December 2020. She also helps with front desk responsibilities. Samantha has held national and state certifications as an EMT; she also attended school for a degree in microbiology. Outside of work, Samantha spends time with her family – she has identical twin girls.
Jennifer has worked in various aspects of the medical field for 15 years, including front office, back office and billing. She is a Certified Medical Coder and joined our practice in 2012. She holds more than 10 years of experience in billing for primary care and neurology. She enjoys spending time with her family doing outdoor activities.
Yvette trained at Pima Medical Institute to be a Medical Administrative Assistant. She has worked in health care for 15 years, mostly in primary care, in various capacities including verifications, billing, and referrals. She joined our practice 3 years ago. She enjoys spending time with her boys and husband and makes amazing designer cakes for friends and family.
Brittani spearheads the scheduling team at Neurology Associates. She makes sure all referrals are handled, and books patients for cognitive rehabilitation therapy and EEGs. Brittani also provides her staff with the resources and support they need to deliver the best patient care.
Brittani started working in the medical field in 2013. Her experience includes roles as an insurance and referral specialist. She has held positions at a well-known gastrointestinal practice and a specialty pharmacy. Brittani joined Neurology Associates in January 2021. She takes pride in getting to know patients, and ensuring they receive the care and compassion they need. “I enjoy laughing with them and knowing that I did my job at the end of the day,” she says. “To me these patients are like my own family and I treat them how I would want my family treated.”
Brittani is pursuing a bachelor’s in behavioral health science with the intent of becoming a psychologist. She already holds her massage therapy license.
In her spare time, Brittani kayaks, travels, tries new foods and goes shopping, and spends time with her daughter, friends, and two dogs.
Cameo is working on his Marketing degree at Chandler Gilbert Community College. He joined our team in 2015 and previously, he was a Certified Diamontologist for 10 years. In addition to helping patients schedule their appointments, he owns his own business breeding Bearded Dragons and building reptile enclosures. He enjoys music, and spending time with his family doing physical activities like hiking, and sports.
Courtney joined our team in 2018, coming to us with two years of front office and insurance verification experience. She works remotely from Iowa, where she enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters.
Rita joined our team in 2017 with 20 years of experience in the medical field including Office Supervisor, front desk, scheduling, authorizations, and medical records to name a few. She is fluent in English and Spanish. Rita loves to cook and when she’s is not working, she’s a volunteer chef for various fundraisers benefiting cancer survivors.
Valerie joined our team in 2013. She has been running our imaging prior authorization and Botox prior authorization / scheduling now for many years. When Valerie isn’t helping patients she loves spending time with her family.
Kristen has worked in prior authorizations for 15 years in various specialties including oncology, and sports medicine. She is trained as a medical assistant and earned her certification in Clinical Back Office from the International Institute of the Americas. When Kristen is at home, she enjoys spending time with her two horses, Thor and Belle.
Courtney has worked at Neurology Associates since 2018. She has extensive experience working with people thanks to a number of years of office employment as well as education in clinical psychology. She holds a bachelor’s in clinical and counseling psychology, and has completed four years of clinical psychology graduate school. She enjoys interacting with and helping patients. Away from work, Courtney loves to read. She also considers “nerdy and informational” movies and television shows “some of the best things ever,” and calls herself a Disney fanatic and cat person.
